Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

For Satches who are looking for a tropical vacation, look no farther than Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We've done Jamaica, Cancun, Cozumel and the Keys, but when it comes to climate, beauty, service, and accommodations, GO TO
CABO! Perfectly dry climate, about 90 degrees, with an ocean breeze---how the heck you going to beat that?

Using a free timeshare from Satch's dad, we arrived on Memorial Day into Cabo. Easy flight from Houston-direct and under 2 1/2 hours. Claimed our bags, cleared customs and off we go in a private A/C town car driven by a Mexican. Of course Satches need 3 things for any trip: beer, water, and combustibles....all 3 were scored in a matter of minutes, and we settled in for our 30 min trip to the Pueblo Bonito Hotel. This place was sweet! Clean, I mean really clean! Beautiful tile and marble everywhere and Mexicans to wait on your every need.

Every day was filled with activities:
Day 1-Golf at Cabo del Sol and Nicklaus's famous Ocean Course-every bit as beautiful as Pebble Beach, right on the Ocean, every hole has an Ocean View.
Day 2-Deep see fishing for Marlin-Billy caught a 140 pounder and ralphed over the side!
Day 3-Snorkeling trip, where drinks and food were included. Needless to say, we got our money's worth and saw a few fish.
Day 4-Waverunners to the arc and around the tip of Baja---very, very cool, and one of the highlights of the trip.

All meals were excellent, Mexicans everywhere to wait hand and foot. Beach bars just out our hotel and down the beach were tremendous. Nothing like having no shoes, turning right or left on the beach and staggering to or from a bar with Mexicans waiting hand and foot to get you mas cerveza or margaritas.

On the down side, there are Mexican vendors everywhere selling you shit. They are a pain in the ass, and never stop, but it is kind of neat, cause you don't have to 'go' shopping for stuff. Just wait long enough, and eventually they'll bring something by that you'll want to take home. Cabo is also not cheap. What with the weak US dollar, and our pention for only drinking and eating the best, its not like the old days where a Mexican vacation was cheap. But, that's why we work, and we got no regrets on spending mucho dinero. Also, we must have eaten about 48 avocados a piece. I'm telling you the avocado and guacamole there is unbelievable. We literally had it every meal....that along with tequila, vodka or cerveza.

So, go to Cabo! I know we'll be back!
