Satch and
Satchette attend the 86th running of the Indianapolis 500
It
was a foggy morning when the sun broke over the horizon that Sunday
morning - - we soon realized it was only foggy inside our heads, it was
actually a beautiful morning. Sgt.
Hackler had us up and out the door by 6:00 am SHARP; we were stocking up
on ice and Krispy Kreme's by 6:15. Not
surprisingly, only 4 cars had arrived at the track before us, so we had
some prime parking real estate.
Old
Indy 500 veterans talk of race day as one that excites all the senses: The
aroma of bacon and links ("I am not sausage woman!") on the
grill. The clinking of ice cubes hitting your cup-then being drowned
by bloody marys (or Captain Morgan’s).
The fffsssstttt of the top of the Bud Lite bottle. The
unforgettable (and regrettable) vision of the line for the bathroom
snaking around the building, moving very, very slowly! I love a good beer
buzz in the morning.
These are the classic moments from every race day.
Man,
I love a good beer buzz in the morning!
